EMILY THOMPSON

Partner, Attorney at Law

From Wisconsin originally, Emily moved to Chicago for college to study Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies at DePaul University. She moved to Winston-Salem for law school, during which time she interned at the Forsyth County Public Defender’s Office and did wrongful conviction work for the Innocence Clinic. In 2019, she co-founded Forsyth County Community Bail Fund, a non-profit dedicating to helping folks held pre-trial.

 

In 2021 she graduated from Wake Forest and spent the first part of her career in civil litigation, advocating for underserved communities. After that, she worked for a private firm, helping grieving families navigate the complicated legal world of probate.

FRANCES SULLIVAN

Partner, Attorney at Law

Frances is native to North Carolina and has remained committed to helping her community. Inspired by the desire to make a difference, she decided to pursue housing law and represent tenants facing eviction. She started her undergraduate education at Wake Forest and stayed at Wake for her law school degree.

 

During law school, she interned for two non-profit law firms, one working on immigration cases, and subsequently at a firm working on domestic violence, housing, and benefits cases. After her non-profit experience, Frances worked at a private law firm doing wills and estate planning.
